Established in 2016, Coffee Beyond Borders was founded on a simple yet defining question:
“Why always Mandheling?”

Indonesia produces an immense variety of distinct coffees, yet the global market has barely scratched the surface of what our land has to offer. Driven by deep curiosity and a commitment to challenge this narrative, our journey began.

From day one, we took to the ground, traveling farm to farm from Sumatra’s volcanic soils to the highlands of Papua to build direct, lasting relationships with local producers. Today, supported by strategic regional warehouses and a hands-on team at every stage of processing, we combine this deeply personal foundation with the scale and expertise needed to unlock the absolute best in every lot. While Mandheling will always be a cornerstone of Indonesia’s coffee heritage, our daily mission is to show the world that there is so much more to explore across our archipelago.

We carry distinct responsibility for every bean we handle:
• as processor, maintaining uncompromised cup quality
• as exporter, connecting local craftsmanship with global markets
• and as innovator, creating the blueprint for unique coffee processing and protocols
